Flocked swabs for excellent specimen collection
Flocked swabs mark the latest development in disposable sample collection devices. Flocking refers to the process of applying flocking to an adhesive-coated surface to enhance sample collection. Here are four reasons why qeaklab flocked swabs are ideal for specimen collection.
1. Flocked swabs provide optimal sampling
Flocked swabs are an excellent choice for rapid diagnostic tests because they are better at collecting and quickly releasing whole cells. Multi-length flocked fibers create a mesh-like structure that collects and retains more samples than traditional cotton, polyester or rayon swabs.
2. Improve diagnostic sensitivity
Flocking technology turns each fiber into a velvety brush, creating hundreds of thousands of contact points for superior sample collection and release. The increased number of target cells could help improve the sensitivity of rapid diagnostic tests.
3. Fast elution
Flocked swabs are fully integrated with the handle, i.e. they contain no inner fabric or other core to absorb the sample, allowing more samples to be collected and retained. On one hand, it increases the sample yield, and on the other hand results in a more complete and faster release of the sample into the liquid medium.
4. Easy to load, unload and transport
Our Qeaklab flocked swabs have break points so the handle can easily be broken off after sampling. Sterile flocked swabs are housed in paper plastic bags. After sampling, simply exchange the swab into the medium tube.
