So,what's the difference between PET and PETG Serum Bottles? How to choose?
Here are the tips:
A.PET Square Media Bottle
1. The plastic square medium bottle is generally made of PET material with high transparency, which is convenient for observing the liquid volume and serum color and identifying the quality;
2. Temperature range: long-term use at -70°C-120°C; short-term use can withstand high temperature of 150°C
3. The PET serum bottle can provide a storage environment of -5°C to -20°C for serum;
The advantages of PET as a packaging material:
1. Resistant to most solvents, such as dilute acid, dilute alkali, oil, fat, etc.;
2. Good mechanical properties, impact strength is 3 to 5 times that of other films;
3. Good folding resistance and good toughness at -30℃;
4. Good safety performance, odorless and non-toxic, can be directly used in food packaging;
5. Excellent gas, water, oil and odor barrier properties.Low gas and water vapor permeability ;
6. The price of raw materials is cheaper than PETG, the finished product is light in weight, not easy to break, low production cost and high cost performance.
B.PETG Square Media Bottle
Compared with PET, the temperature range of PETG is reduced to -60℃-75℃, and the cost of raw material procurement is also higher.
The advantages of PETG as a packaging material:
1.Transparency is higher and the light transmittance is up to 90%;
2.Stronger stiffness and hardness, excellent impact resistance, scratch resistance and toughness, close to or even higher than PC material, suitable for injection molding, extrusion molding, extrusion blowing;
3.PETG is also better than PET in terms of chemical resistance, oil resistance, weather resistance (yellowing) properties, mechanical strength, and barrier properties to oxygen and water vapor;
4.Good safety performance, odorless and non-toxic, can be sterilized by gamma, and can be used for the packaging of food, medicine and medical equipment;
5.It can be recycled, meets environmental protection requirements, and does not produce harmful substances when incinerating its waste;
6.Strong plasticity, can be processed by blow molding, injection molding, extrusion and other methods.
In summary, if you have higher requirements for solution preservation performance and transparency, it is recommended to purchase PETG square media bottles

Tightness is also an important criterion for purchasing serum bottles. If the airtightness is not up to standard, it will lead to invasion of external bacteria or leakage, which will contaminate the serum.
